The DATA CENTER GROUP (DCG) takes a share in the MAIN DC Offenbach GmbH. As a general contractor, it plans and constructs a high-availability data center for the company and meets the growing demand for data centers that companies can lodge into in times of the digital transformation. In cooperation with Etix Everywhere S.A., a global operator of data centers, and EVO, the Energieversorgung Offenbach AG, a building complex for about 3,000 racks is coming into being on a building area of roughly 7,800 m². The investment volume is around 120 million EUR.

The DCG, functioning as a general contractor, takes over the entire planning and construction of the data center and supports the achievements of the high efficiency goals sustainably with its operating experts. The focus is on high availability, future-proofness and the use of both energy and overhead-efficient technologies. The first phase with two modules will be finished by the end of 2019. Expansions are planned in two further phases as well as modular enlargements. For the operation of the data center, the MAIN DC Offenbach GmbH was founded, wherein the DCG takes a share as a partner.
The data center is developing just off the globally important internet exchange point DE-CIX in Frankfurt and an EVO-transformer station in Offenbach. Thus, both the fastest connection to the worldwide data streams and the optimally secure and reliable supply with electric power are secured. With a height of up to 25 m, the gross floor area of the building complex is around 22,000 m² and provides enough space for roughly 3,000 IT-racks.
“This kind of ultramodern service data center is a very good opportunity for large and upmarket companies to house their IT-infrastructures and data in a financially attractive context in a high-available data center with a very efficient operation. For this reason, they can meet the high demands of the digital transformation. Not only European quality and security standards like the EN 50600 are ensured by the regional proximity, but also an extremely fast data transfer with attractive transfer cost,” explains the manager of the DATA CENTER GROUP, Ralf Siefen.
