Realization of four ECB-S certified high security rooms on two floors plus modular F90 IT outdoor technical areas in container form in the outdoor area and general planning including project control of the overall measure
The Max Planck Institute decided for the maximum protection of its IT and therefore commissioned and realized the planning (according to HOAI) and the construction of a high security data center and with maximum availability protection of the data center products, building physics with the Data Center Group.
In an existing hall complex of the Max Planck Institute in Greifswald, a data center unique in Germany was built in 2015 on two floors with a freight elevator system.
The double-story data center, in which the upper floor is supported by a highly massive, certified, fire-protection-clad steel structure, contains a total of four "ECB-S" certified DC IT Room Granite high-security rooms incl. separate climate control brackets on 480 m² of pure data center floor space.
In addition, a 180 m² modular IT container landscape was erected for the corresponding F90 technology, including a steel structure mounted air conditioning technology in N+1 solution for the outdoor air conditioning units above the technology containers in the outdoor area of the hall complex.
The attached modular F90 IT technology containers are constructed in a 100 % redundancy concept (UPS A + B incl. their distributions) and equipped with their own transformer, MV and fire alarm extinguishing system for overall complex control and monitoring.
A general planning according to HOAI was lead-managed by Data Center Group and a large overall implementation was accompanied and supervised.
