Optimize now to be future-proof tomorrow

Data centers are often structures that have grown over time. Older data centers in particular, which went online ten years ago or earlier, hardly meet today's standards in terms of security and energy efficiency. Operators who fail to make improvements in this area are wasting a lot of money, among other things, on energy consumption. Availability is also no longer guaranteed. The risk of outages increases.

The Energy Efficiency Act, which was passed by the German government at the end of 2023, poses a number of challenges for data center operators and obliges them to save energy. Additionally, the EU's Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), which came into force in March 2024, must now be considered.

Our services for needs-based optimization and upgrading:

Modernizing a cooling system can significantly reduce the PUE value of a data center. With an annual operating time of 8,760 hours per year for a data center, such an investment saves a considerable amount of energy costs. Modernizing cooling systems also makes sense from a sustainability perspective. The German government promotes the use of natural refrigerants such as propane, ammonia, CO2, and water.

The use of energy from renewable sources reduces ongoing operating costs. A photovoltaic system installed on the premises provides cost-effective energy, as less primary energy needs to be purchased.

The further use of waste heat generated during data center operations offers additional potential. This can be fed into district heating networks, for example, or used to heat neighboring buildings.

The introduction or expansion of a DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) system, which monitors power consumption, cooling, and utilization of the data center in real time, can contribute to optimization.
