CEWE is Europe's leading photo service and innovative online printing partner. With 12 operating sites and around 3,500 employees in 24 countries, the company supplies more than 25,000 retail stores and generated consolidated sales of 593.1 million euros in 2016. Minimizing the risk of various external influences and securing the IT infrastructure was the reason for the acquisition of the new DC IT Safe from the company DC-Products GmbH (subsidiary of Data Center Group). It is thus a backup solution for the already existing data center. In a short time, Data Center Group set up a mini data center as an extended data center, the so-called DC IT Safe. Data security is now increased as a result and should a fire occur, no data will be lost. After all, security is CEWE's top priority. For this reason, the transmission of the photos of all CEWE customers is encrypted. To ensure the highest level of security, CEWE also undergoes regular TÜV testing.
Mr. Wilcke, IT Manager at the Mönchengladbach site, says: "We looked at various solutions at CeBIT 2016 and then decided on DC-Products GmbH. In our opinion, they offer the best and most solid product on the market. We were able to take a detailed look at the modular DC IT Safe, designed with an IT high-security cell system, at CeBIT 2016 in Hanover. It was crucial for us that the DC IT Safe has excellent technical equipment and that the company offers good service."
The DC IT Safe has the following special technical features:
Very stable rack with a total of 62 U
Integrated rack inverter with high performance cooling system
Automatic rack fire detection including fire extinguishing system F90 NOVEC 1230
DC IT Monitoring System DCM Agent for monitoring the most important devices and status messages
UPS systems including 1+1/100% redundancy function. The UPS systems not only protect the IT components, but also the air conditioning systems in the DC IT Safe.
Electrical management package for the redundancy supply of the DC IT Safe
The Data Center Group offers an "all-round worry-free package - everything from a single source". At the end of 2016, the entire implementation process started - from consulting to planning and installation - with final realization in the first quarter of 2017.
