My internship at the Data Center Group

After applying for a training position at the Data Center Group, I was invited to do an internship. On my first day, I was warmly welcomed by all the employees.
I was then shown to my workstation, which was equipped with all kinds of equipment and a laptop. I was also assigned a mentor who was always available to answer my questions and explain all my tasks to me. Ideally, she sat right next to me, which made communication much easier.

At the beginning, I was given a few drawing tasks. This allowed my colleague to better assess how strong my spatial understanding is.
After completing the first task, I was shown the production facility. There, we took a detailed look at how a container is constructed.
Later, I was asked to draw it. Of course, the most important functions and all my questions were explained to me. We also noted the differences between the drawing and the final construction so that we could amend the plan later.
I was given the floor plan and the dimensioned template from which I took the information for drawing. Then I drew in all the contents of the container, from the electrical planning to the air conditioning units to the fire extinguishing system.
Finally, a plan header was created and printed out. I had to fold it using a special technique to format it from DIN A0 to DIN A4.
Finally, I had a feedback meeting with the department manager.
The following Monday, I decided to accept the job offer, which is how I ended up here.
I look forward to reporting on the next steps at the Data Center Group in my next blog post.
