With its 100 branches nationwide, the Government Housing Bank is one of the most popular banks among the Thai population and reports to the Ministry of Finance. It supports the financing of house and housing construction for low and middle income groups. This results in a special responsibility for its customers with regard to the security of their IT systems, data and applications, which is reflected in the implementation of international standards. The new ECB-S standard is also an integral part of this policy.

For this reason, a DC IT Room Granite ECB-S security room from DC-Products GmbH (subsidiary of Data Center Group) in Germany was chosen for the construction of the new multi-storey IT center, located next to the main building in Bangkok. It was a long way until then, as Thai banks are not blessed with the budgets of German banks. A security room of DC-Products GmbH was therefore not allowed to be larger than 30 m², although there would have been room for improvement in terms of the requirements profile. However, since this room can be expanded without any problems, Data Center Products was also able to score here with a decisive argument beyond security. This solution was first presented almost 10 years ago by the company SITEM (Site Preparation Management, Bangkok), with its more than 100 employees a powerhouse for planning and building data centers in Thailand and with the support of Pacific-SecureIT, a specialist for high-security areas in Asia's data centers.

Together, they then accompanied this project. Initially, a suitable building site was sought in vain in view of the building density in Bangkok, until finally many of the limited employee parking spaces had to make way for the construction of the headquarters. The multi-story building constructed here is the company's new IT headquarters. Its employees have 700 sq. ft. of office space, 500 sq. ft. for IT facilities and the aforementioned 30 sq. ft. of DC Products' newest high-security area. A decision that the head of IT, Khun Apirat, points to with some pride, despite all Thai restraint.

The building was completed within about 400 days, the construction of the IT room took about 2 weeks. In view of the high penalties for delays, a high level of experience was required, as was team spirit and, due to the heat in a non-air-conditioned construction area, good physical condition on the part of all employees. As with the negotiations, the preparations and construction work were carefully supervised and coordinated by Pacific-SecureIT on site. All requirements of the customer could be met on time and qualitatively in every respect.
