After the Green Data Center Summit at the Smart Country Convention, the Bitkom Data Center Conference 2025 entered its second round. And we were represented at the Bitkom Data Center Summit 2025 in Berlin. Under the motto “Sustainable, Sovereign & Secure,” this leading event for the data center industry took place in collaboration with policymakers, academia, and other sectors.
In addition to an exciting opening speech and other informative presentations and panel discussions, the event particularly fostered the exchange between politics, business, and science on key issues in the industry. This year, the organizers increasingly relied on interactive formats—such as best-practice pitches and workshops—to discuss these topics together with participants and to develop solutions.
Central topics of the summit included:
Sustainability: Despite increasing computing capacities, digitalization must be designed so that data centers can be operated in a climate-neutral manner and resources used sustainably.
Sovereignty and competitiveness: The growing demand for computing power driven by AI and digitalization requires digital sovereignty and the preservation of international competitiveness.
Energy supply: Data centers need a stable, affordable, and sustainable electricity supply to overcome bottlenecks and high energy prices.
Where: Representation of the State of Hesse to the Federal Government | Berlin
When: Thursday, 13 November 2025
The Data Center Group was on site as an expert for sustainable data centers and was represented by Fabian Buda (Head of Business Development) in a panel discussion in which the takeaways from previously formed working groups—where solutions for challenges in the data center sector were explored-were presented. We thank you for your visit and your valuable contributions!
