Whether it's online shopping, streaming content, mobile banking or working in a home office - every day we access digital services and use the Internet to exchange information with people around the world. We store our photos in the cloud, we share documents via sharepoints, and often we don't even think about where exactly the physical servers of the cloud are located. Does the cloud "exist" physically at all, or where is this virtual world located?
A clear answer to the question "Where does the Internet actually live?!" is offered by the awareness campaign of the same name, which will culminate in an open day at German data centers on September 29, 2023.
For this purpose, all operators of data centers invite interested parties to visit the "home" of the data. This will provide an exclusive insight into the structure of data centers and learn more about the relevance of these facilities and what it takes to process data.
The tours of the data centers take place all over Germany. In Frankfurt am Main alone, you have the opportunity to gain an exclusive insight at ten locations.
Data Center Group supports this campaign as part of the "data center ecosystem". After all, a data center is not just made up of one building, but of a multitude of different players that must work together precisely for it to function successfully and smoothly. As a partner for highly available, secure, sustainable and efficient IT infrastructures - from enterprise customers to hyperscale projects - we are part of the "Open Data Center Day - Where does the Internet actually live?" campaign.
