Together with “FLY & HELP” we have made the future possible

Grand opening of a new school in Kenya
News | 12.03.2026

With the ceremonial opening of the new DCG wing in Kidzangoni, our joint fundraising project with FLY & HELP has been successfully completed.

School Opening in Kidzangoni

A significant milestone has been reached: On March 4th, the new school building at Likunda Primary School – Kidzangoni Branch in Kenya was officially opened.

Together with the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP, the Data Center Group (DCG) aimed to support the school's expansion, thereby enabling more children in the region to access quality education. The necessary donations were raised as part of the DCG's 20th anniversary celebrations, thanks to the generous support of DCG and its partners and friends. Three new classrooms and an additional office space were funded – a crucial contribution to improved learning conditions and new opportunities for the future.

A Moving Day on Site

A group of approximately 40 FLY & HELP guests accompanied the visitors to the school for the opening ceremony. The guests were welcomed with music, dance, and great warmth. In addition to school representatives, parents, teachers, and members of the local community were also present.

As part of the celebration, following a speech on behalf of FLY & HELP and all donors, the building section financed by the Data Center Group was officially opened: the “DCG-Wing” – the new building with the three classrooms.

Education with a lasting impact

This project in Kidzangoni has created a place that offers children better educational opportunities in the long term. The school belongs to the Mekaela Academies network and has recently achieved excellent results. This underscores the importance of investing in good learning environments and reliable educational structures.

The new facilities significantly relieve the pressure on the existing school and create additional capacity for teaching. In the future, up to 600 children will benefit from improved conditions for learning and development.

Thanks to all our supporters

The realization of this project is thanks to the tremendous commitment of many people. The fundraising initiative was launched as part of the Data Center Group's 20th anniversary celebration. Thanks to the support of our employees, partners, and numerous other donors, the target amount was reached and the construction was successfully completed.

Our sincere thanks also go to FLY & HELP, the local project partners, and everyone who supported this school project with their dedication.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to FLY & HELP, the local project partners, and everyone who contributed to this school project. The opening of the school has created more than just a building: it is a place that offers children in Kidzangoni real future prospects.
