Data center capacity is growing rapidly, and their energy consumption is increasingly contributing to overall demand. Germany is among the leading locations in Europe, while the United Arab Emirates is gaining importance. Technologies such as artificial intelligence are driving the demand for computing power even further.
Efficient energy consumption management is crucial from both an ecological and financial perspective. Both countries are aiming for net-zero emissions (Germany by 2045, UAE by 2050). To this end, Germany is pursuing a national data center strategy and has passed the Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG).
This virtual workshop format brings together policymakers and technology companies to highlight key challenges and opportunities for energy efficiency and AI in data centers. The aim is to present solutions and discuss key frameworks for their implementation. The event is organized by the Emirati-German Energy Partnership on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK) and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI), and implemented by Guidehouse and the German-Emirati Business Council (AHK).
The Data Center Group has been given a special honor: As a key player in digital topics, we are allowed to actively shape this discussion. Our Head of Business Development, Fabian Buda, will give a presentation on the topic: "Holistic solutions for efficient and highly available data centers."

Participants include representatives at the working level of the Emirati Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), as well as relevant companies from Germany and the UAE. We look forward to an exciting and informative event.
