Did you know that you can spend part of your training abroad?
That's exactly what I did and spent three weeks in Malta in October 2023.
The whole thing was supported by the EU Erasmus program and organized with the help of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. This gives you the opportunity to complete a language course or an internship abroad. I opted for the latter and worked in a bookshop with its own publishing house in Malta.
My first day of the internship began with an introductory meeting at Easy Job Bridge. This is the organization that was responsible for me locally. There I received some helpful information about living and working in Malta. I was then accompanied to my employer by my mentor Teodora. I was warmly welcomed there and they explained what to expect.
During the three weeks, I was involved in a wide variety of tasks and helped out both in the office and in the book store. I wrote invoices, entered products on the company website, priced books, checked incoming goods and much more.
During this time, I lived in an apartment with three other Erasmus participants. Everyone had their own room and the bathroom and kitchen were shared.
All in all, it was an exciting time during which I was able to gain lots of new experiences. I found it particularly exciting to see how work is done in other countries and I have particularly positive memories of the friendly and grateful nature of the Maltese people.
