ARZ Haan AG Unternehmensgruppe approached us at the end of 2023 with an urgent request: The company, one of the leading service providers in the field of accounting, financial services and software solutions for a wide range of healthcare providers such as pharmacies, dental practices, midwives and other service providers, with over 18,000 customers and around 1,200 employees at over 10 locations in Germany, was facing a major challenge. Since the data center plays a mission-critical role - including processing an average of more than 10 million prescriptions per month and billing health insurance companies - a fast, secure and long-term solution was required.
After extensive research and discussions with several vendors, Data Center Group (DCG) was selected. The decision was based on DCG's structured approach, fast response time, and a clear list of questions that accurately captured all requirements. It was particularly important for the ARZ Haan Group to have a partner that not only supplied products, but also supported them with expertise and experience.
The decision was made in favor of a room-in-room system, the DC IT Room Quartzite, which meets the highest security standards - from access control and early fire detection to optimized surveillance. The project started at the beginning of January 2024 and was under considerable time pressure: the target was a construction period of six months, which was exactly met.
The main challenges in the implementation were the logistics and the preparation of the premises; unforeseen obstacles arose in particular due to the fire protection requirements, including a subsequent reduction of the room size by 25 centimeters due to additional fire protection measures. However, thanks to the flexibility of our team, we were able to adapt the system without compromising the schedule.
Today, the customer benefits from a more efficient and secure IT infrastructure. The new solution provides more efficient cooling, a more stable operating environment, and higher availability - essential for the just-in-time operations of a healthcare billing service provider. In addition, the company opted for a comprehensive service contract so that all maintenance and support is provided by DCG. "Despite the time challenges, we are more than satisfied with the solution.
