The Data Center Group has been working with Lescom AG for several years. The competent partner for solutions in the areas of electrical engineering, security technology and data centers has its headquarters in Ueberstorf near Bern. The Swiss company was founded in 1978 and currently employs about 40 people. Together they realized a project for a Swiss customer, who does not want to be named for security reasons. A certified room-in-room solution was to be integrated in the newly constructed building of an international biopharmaceutical company. From the first offer in April to the final offer in September, various meetings and agreements took place in order to find an efficient solution that met the customer's requirements.
Ultimately, the customer chose DC Products' modular room-in-room system DC IT Room Quartzite 9.3 to protect against key physical hazards. The room-within-a-room solution was delivered as early as December, and by early March, the entire system was fully installed and operational. The DC IT Room Quartzite 9.3 protects against fire, explosion, debris load, burglary, vandalism, water, dust, radiation, noise, as well as corrosive gases. The quickly disassembled and reassembled system consists of wall, ceiling and floor elements as well as a service-friendly and innovative cable and pipe bulkhead system. Pneumatic pressure relief valves are integrated to relieve pressure when the extinguishing system is in use, as well as electrical climate control valves for ventilation and exhaust. Structural IT protection is provided in accordance with Bitkom RZ category B, BSI and EN 50600. The room-within-a-room solution is approximately 65 m2 in size, provides space for a total of 16 IT racks, which are cooled using InRow cooling systems.
