Fast and smooth - MAIN DC's new data center has been completed

Data Center Group is building one of the largest and most sustainable data centers in Germany in record time
News | 04.03.2022

The final milestone has been passed: MAIN DC's new data center near the world's largest Internet node in Frankfurt am Main has been completed. On an inner-city site of only about 7,800 m² and with a building complex built according to best practices for about 3,000 racks, one of the most modern data centers in Germany is located on a floor space of 4,500 m² over 5 floors. After construction in record time, the successful overall acceptance and commissioning of the mega project by the global end customer took place.

For the implementation of the data center, the Data Center Group (DCG) founded a joint venture together with the partners Energieversorgung Offenbach (EVO), as land owner and energy supplier for MAIN DC, and Vantage Data Centers as operating company. The latter has now completely taken over the data center on this campus and bought back the shares of DCG and EVO.

"We would like to thank EVO and Vantage for their partnership over the past two years. Only in this union was it possible to hand over this mega project to the end customer so quickly. We are pleased that we were able to make a significant contribution to the success of the project with our expertise, know-how and complete value chain - starting with consulting and analysis, design and planning, cross-trade construction and services."

Ralf Siefen - CEO of Data Center Group.

The share sale was planned by the Data Center Group as a strategic step. After the successful completion of the project, the focus and resources will be placed on the next projects. There are already further major projects in the project planning stage - especially in the Rhine-Main area as the center of the data center industry, but also in other major German cities. DCG's portfolio of different services, which it offers all from one source, provides an answer to the increasing demand for available and efficient IT infrastructures. These will be needed even more in the future to meet the demand for computing capacity for tasks such as cloud solutions, Internet of Things, smart cities, autonomous driving, Industry 4.0, 5G and more.
